Back in 2019, Harrison (hal9kay) and Kate spent an awesome day driving Sunset Blvd. to the beach and back. Feeling inspired, they went straight to work on a demo. Sadly, the track laid idle for 5 years as the world flipped on its head through covid. Fast forward to the end of 2024 and Harrison and Kate joined forces back in the studio with new energy and finished their original vision for the single, releasing it just before the new year 2025

hal9kay (aka. Harrison Andrew Lee) started making electronic music chasing the sounds of Daft Punk, deadmau5, Simian Mobile Disco, and SBTRKT. He cut his teeth as one half of Secret Squares alongside his collaborator Kurtis Schultz (RYNHRTT). hal9kay loves to make music that makes you want to strut your best moves on the dance floor, drive fast when the beat hits, and vibe out when you need to focus or chill.
About Kate Paradis
Fiercely feminine behind the kit, Kate continues to perform on a world stage tearing down gender barriers with an unabashed love for her craft. Her influences include John Bonham, Chad Smith, and Tony Williams. Her musical journey dates back more than 20 years ago, starting with classical piano training. She first tried drum set when she was invited to join a pirate ska band, The Scurvies, performing in costumes at punk-rock shows well before the days of YouTube! She has performed with concert bands, symphony orchestras, rock bands, percussion ensembles, jazz-fusion combo’s, techno projects, even authentic Indonesian Gamelan.
